Local Rules:

- Twlv Stix Rules govern all play except where modified by local rules. (See Player Handbook V5)

- Out of bounds: defined by white stakes, and property fences.

- Bunkers: You are welcome to lift, clean and place your ball in the bunkers. Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions – Rule 24-1 (you can move stones

without penalty)

- Environmentally Sensitive Area: Penalty Area Left of Hole #8

Defined by the outside edge of the cart path and red/green stakes entry into and/or play from is

prohibited – you must take a penalty stroke and drop at point of entry.

- Boulders placed adjacent to cart paths are considered part of the cart path, unless they are inside

a penalty area.

- Drop areas - As an additional relief option we have the following drop areas; Hole #4 if you cannot

find your ball in the trees on the right. Hole #6 as an additional option if you enter the penalty area

behind the green. Hole #7 if your ball is in either the penalty area on the right, or left of the cart

path. Hole #8 if your ball does not cross either penalty area on the left or right. Hole #9 if your ball

ends up in the rocks behind the green – the drop area is located behind the 18 th green. Hole #13 if

your ball ends up behind the green in “pine cone valley”. Hole #18 if your ball ends up long of the

green in the rocks or in the hitting nets – the drop area is located close to the starter’s shack.

Using any of these drop areas comes with a one stroke penalty.

Pace of Play:

PLEASE KEEP UP TO THE GROUP IN FRONT

The pace of play for 18 holes is 4 hours and 30 minutes.

Groups will be given a warning and then if pace is not improved may be penalized or Player Assistant has authority to direct you to pick up your ball and go to the next tee if your group falls behind one complete hole. Beware, they came down on us hard last year so make sure to keep up with the group ahead of you.

Executives Property Management Contests

We have KP’s on Hole 4, 9, 11, 17

Long Drive on Hole 18

Prize : $50 Gift cards from Natures Fare

Scoring Format:

Individual Stroke Play

Slow Play Policy

All Players must attempt to keep up with the expected pace of play (EPP) from the host course.  The Bear is 4 hours and 30 min

We expect to play holes in 15 min / hole at The Okanagan Club

Ways to Speed up Pace of Play

Max score

Quadruple bogey is our max.  4 over par.  If you reach this score pick up your ball wherever you are.  Do not complete hole if you reach this score.

Limit Time Searching for Balls

You have 3 min to look for your ball.  This only applies if you are on time.  If you are behind pace of play this time must be shortened or non-existent.

Lost ball off tee

We do not go back to the tee box to re-tee if ball is lost or hit OB.

Players have the option of dropping in the fairway if they so choose. Players must best guess where their ball went out of bounds and create an imaginary perpendicular line to the fairway, no closer to the hole. From there, you can now drop anywhere within two club-lengths behind the line. The next shot will be your fourth.

Ready Golf

  1. Walk to your ball as soon as possible, so that you can choose your club and think about the shot in advance.

  2. When a ball is lost, hit your shot first and then help look for the lost ball.

  3. Move Early.  Grab a club and walk down the sides of the fairway to reach your ball and then approach it from the centre.

  4. Never play in a caravan, moving in a group from ball to ball.

  5. When on the green, line up your putt before it is your turn. Last Season we took way to long on the greens.

Penalty of Slow Play

The tour is in its early years and it is crucial that we have a good reputation with the courses.  Until we have the ability to rent out the entire course we are at the mercy of pace of play.

Please respect pace of play, if you choose not to please be aware of the penalties below:

Warning

If you are behind the EPP, then you will be given a warning by the marshals or by an offical.  At this time it is expected that you will attempt to pick up the pace and close the gap.   You should always get a warning and a chance to catch up.

Skip a hole

If you are behind the group ahead of you (assuming you are the same size) you may be asked to skip a hole.  If this happens then everyone in the group will receive a double bogey for the hole.  If the group ahead of you is fast but you are under the EPP then you should NOT be asked to pick up, You must also be behind the EEP.

Strokes Added to final score

If there are no Marshalls out or people monitoring the course then as a gauge,  you must not fall back more then 20 min from the front group and must come in under 4.5 hours. We will only start assessing penalties if your time is over 4.5 hours AND you post the score more than 20 minutes after the group in front of you.

1 stroke for 4.75

2 strokes for over 4.76 - 5+ hours.

Repeat Offenders

If you are seen to be a problem with slow play you will be issues a “Tour Warning”. Slow Players may not know they are slow players.  If there is another issue or there is a lack of respect of pace of play,  the tour has the right to remove you from the tour.
